Word of the Week: Courage

Week beginning February 28, 2022; each weekwe discuss a principle or value of the Qualities of Success. We suggest you use the Word of The Week in your thoughts, deeds and actions.  You might currently possess the quality and desire to develop it to a higher level.  You could replace a bad habit with a good habit. Write an action step and use it daily to develop the Quality in your life.

The word this week is COURAGE; the exercising of a conscious choice motivated by virtuous emotions of compassion, concern or love. The action is taken even though there is still fear. Usually comes from some upfront thought. It is a great virtue and comes from the heart. Action even though it is dangerous or difficult.  Do it anyway.

Bravery is used interchangeably with Courage by the general public but they are different.  Both are considered heroic acts.

Bravery is the ability to confront something painful, difficult or dangerous without any fear. Soldier charging into battle, little fear, little concern for themselves.  There is a mission and duty to achieve for the greater good.  An act of accepting a challenge to do something that needs doing. There is no stopping to weigh the pros and cons. There is confidence they can get the job done. There is little thought beforehand. A playmate on the school playground stands up to a bully takes Courage and Bravery.
